I was first introduced to Laura and Michael in 2008 at the time of the death of Laura’s mother Lesley; she was such an amazing lady.

I was absolutely delighted when her equally amazing daughter Lesley contacted me three years later in June 2011, to ask if I would officiate at her wedding on the banks of St.Mary’s Loch by Tibbie Shiels Inn; located amidst the hills near Selkirk; a stunning setting; overlooked by the statue of Sir Walter Scott who loved the area and frequented the Inn some 200 years ago.

On the day everything was just perfect, even the weather in this otherwise very wet summer. The Indian teepees erected for the occasion adjacent to the scene of the ceremony were magnificent. Their interior was like Dr. Who’s Tardis, providing a spacious yet intimate setting for their wedding breakfast.

Laura walked from the Inn across the uneven green country lawn and through the trees, avoiding their roots that straddled her path led by her cousin and piper for the day Hilary.

Making up the bridal party was her brother Darren, there to offer his strong arm to help her on her way, followed by her lovely bridesmaids Louise, Lottie, Wendy and Kate. They arrived at the point of ceremony on the Loch’s shore where our Groom Michael and best men; Gus, Ross and Callum stood in anticipation of the moment; Laura arrived looking absolutely stunning. I was so privileged to be a part of that wonderful day. The collage of photographs beautifully created from the photographs taken on the day by Malin Widstrand; www.malinwidstrand.com speaks volumes, enjoy them.
