We are very excited to be attending The Moorings Hotel wedding fair next weekend, Sunday 28th of September.

The Moorings Hotel, just 5 minutes drive from Fort William is the perfect setting for you to exchange vows surrounded by the other important people in your life. Celebrated as one of the most popular hotels in Fort William, the Moorings Hotel is a hidden gem. With the spectacular backdrop of Ben Nevis and the Caledonian Canal, the Moorings is a perfect location for your Highland Wedding.

The wedding fair will be held from 12-3pm and entry is free for all brides to be! You’ll receive a complimentary glass of bubbly on arrival along with a goody bag and a copy of the Scottish Wedding Directory.

There will be lots of great suppliers there for you to speak to and get great ideas for your big day. This is definitely one not to be missed and is sure to be a great day out so come along with friends and family and see the Bridal show in conjunction with Marina’s Bridal and live entertainment from Wonderland and Mardi Gras. And, of course we will be there to answer all your questions on having a Humanist Ceremony as well as tell you a bit more about our wedding packages which we are delighted to work with The Moorings on.

Here are our top tips to make sure you have a fantastic visit to the hotel and make the most out of the show.

HOW TO GET THE BEST OUT OF A WEDDING SHOW

If your fiancée can’t go, choose carefully who else to take – Bridesmaid, Mum, Mother-in-law to be? If you’re thinking of looking at dresses, then maybe taking your Mum is a nice idea.

Make a plan of what exhibitors you want to visit. There is no harm in making a list and making sure you talk to everyone on it.

Take a notebook and carrier bag. Jot down ideas you like and take flyers and business cards away. With all the best intention in the world, you’ll have forgotten who they were by the time you get home.

Some suppliers have special offers on the day so take some form of payment with you if you are planning to book, but at the same time do not feel pressurised in to saying ‘yes’ if you are not 100% sure or if you want to take the time to think it over. It is so easy to get caught up in the excitement of the day and make an impulse purchase that you might regret making.

If there are catwalks or live shows, find out what times they are on at and co-ordinate your visit so you can see them.

And finally, wear comfy shoes. You will be on your feet for a long period of time and probably do a lot of walking!!

We look forward to meeting you all
