Next month our Director and Celebrant Victoria will quite literally be taking a leap of Forth! She will be abseiling from the Forth Road Bridge on October 9th in aid of Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland. We caught up with her to find out WHY?!

Why Abseiling?

This is something I’ve always fancied having a go at in the past, but have never quite got round to. I wanted to do something a bit different and I don’t have a fear of heights, so I’m not worried about being scared on the day and I’m sure I’ll be fine once I get going. I hope!

What makes this event appealing?

I guess it’s just the challenge of the abseil itself, and taking me out of my comfort zone.  I have no worries about safety, or getting through the event unscathed and have every confidence in the event organisers.

What’s the training been like?

Well with an abseil, you can’t really train much. Apart from standing on the edge of very tall buildings and looking over the edge! I have been jumping off the bottom three steps in my house if that helps!

Are you doing this challenge for charity?

I am indeed raising funds for charity. The event is being organised by Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland, (SC018761) www.chss.org.uk

Several members of my family have been affected by stroke or heart disease, so this is a charity that means a great deal to me personally.
