One of the biggest considerations for couples when planning their wedding is the date.
Of course lots of couples opt for a spring or summer wedding, but let’s face it, that doesn’t necessarily guarantee the weather!

Especially in Scotland!

Autumn and winter weddings can also be really special, particularly from the point of view of the photographs. The plethora of colours in autumn can make an amazing back drop for the photos and of course, so can the Christmas tree and sparkly lights in the venue!

But what if you want to have your wedding around Christmas time but don’t want the venue or photos to look ‘Christmassy’? Not everyone likes tinsel and baubles after all!

Maybe having the wedding at that time of year is not because the couple want a Christmas theme to their big day, perhaps the date is significant for other reasons, (maybe a special anniversary). And venues do tend to put the tree and decorations up rather early……(The beginning of November in most venues!)

But what if you’re getting married in the middle of November and don’t want to see the tree and lights?
If this is the case, don’t be scared to ask your venue to tone down the decorations on your big day, or perhaps even move the tree? Although this may be a bit of extra work for the venue, don’t be afraid to ask.

It’s your day after all and the venue should be willing to do whatever it takes to make your day perfect.
